The Navajo community lives on the largest land area retained by a US Tribe, and Monument Valley is the most beautiful National Monument of all the amazing sites to see on this 28,000 square miles territory. If you get there after dark, like we did, you can park pretty much anywhere on the small dirt roads crossing the main route heading to the Park. Waking up with these sandstones masterpieces around you is a moment you’ll never forget! You’ll need about 90 minutes to drive around each Monuments, and you can also hike through the desert to get closer to some of them (even if hiking is prohibited).
