This year’s Descend on Bend was the biggest it’s ever been!

“This documentary follows Ryan Sellmeyer and the crew during their preparations leading up to one of the worlds largest van gatherings. Descend on Bend is a gathering of van dwellers and adventurers from across the planet who meet annually in the Oregon outback to simply, be human. Learn more about what goes into putting this event together and the lifelong friendships it produces year after year. ”

We were able to convince even more amazing bands to come perform in the middle of nowhere. Performing artists included Laney Lou and the Birddogs from Montana, Scratchdog Stringband, Ira Wolf, Lee Henke, Austin Quattlebaum, and Sarah Barlow. The amount of activities we were able to successfully pull off due to our small army of incredible volunteers was mind blowing! Activities included daily yoga at the rim of a giant sunken volcano and ladies cocktail and craft hour. In fact, so many amazing women showed up that we couldn’t even fit everybody in our massive Teepee!

This year’s Descend on Bend raffle was also a massive success, which Go-Van is proud to have supported. Big thanks to everybody involved for raising $5,894 for Oregon Natural Desert Association (ONDA)! The Descend on Bend team is already hard at work preparing for the 2019 event. They’re even looking at extending the gathering for 2019 and working towards moving to a new location that can barely be described in mere words! We can’t wait to join everybody at next year’s event!
